Overview:

Mahoosuc Kids Association is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Program Coordinator for our after-school program at Woodstock Elementary School. The Program Coordinator will oversee the planning, implementation, and administration of age-appropriate activities that engage and enrich the children we serve. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, fun, and supportive environment while ensuring compliance with all DHHS licensing requirements.

Outdoor adventuring and healthy living are a huge part of what we embrace at MKA. Whether it is cooking, hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, snowshoeing, fort building, or Nordic skiing, the successful candidate will not only plan these experiences but also share a passion for them.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Planning and Implementation:

  • Develop and coordinate age-appropriate activities that meet the needs and interests of the children.

  • Maintain a safe, enriching, and fun program environment.

Family and Community Engagement:

  • Partner effectively with the SAD #44 district staff members

  • Communicate regularly with families regarding program updates and child progress.

  • Collaborate with community partners to offer new enrichment programs.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Interview, hire, train, and coach a small team of After-School Professionals.

  • Conduct staff observations and evaluations to ensure team growth and success.

  • Create and maintain staff schedules to meet program needs.

  • Host team meetings to ensure the team is equipped, trained, and informed of policy changes.

Administrative Duties:

  • Attend weekly collaboration meetings with the MKA Leadership Team.

  • Write monthly reports for the Board of Directors.

  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping for children and staff.

  • Adhere to DHHS licensing regulations.

Reporting:

  • Report directly to the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

  • Must be over 21 years of age.

  • AA/AS in ECE OR AAAS with 12 credits in ECE OR a DHHS-approved field and 2 years of direct childcare experience OR 30 college credits in ECE and 1 year of direct childcare experience OR CDA and 3 years direct childcare experience OR 5 years direct childcare experience and 135 hours of approved training in ECE 

  • Willing to complete a DHHS background check.

  • Willing to obtain CPR/First Aid certification if not already certified.

  • Willing to provide documentation of vaccinations (MMR and TDAP).

  • Preferred: 3+ years of supervisory and administrative experience.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to actively engage with children during activities, which may include bending, kneeling, running, or standing for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

  • Flexible hours with some work-from-home opportunities (hybrid).

  • Program hours are 2:45 - 6:00 pm, with a 30-40 hour work week.

  • The position begins in August and ends in June, with potential for summer work.
